Additionally, Google’s SVP of Hardware Rick Osterloh has tweeted about the event, which would seem to indicate that the company will be launching some kind of gaming hardware at GDC. And if that wasn’t enough, Google has already posted a placeholder page for the announcement on the Google Store, which seems to practically confirm that there will be some sort of physical device that it’ll be announcing next week.

Just speculation, but does anyone think Google might be putting out a Shield competitor?

Forgive me for my cynicism but I'm not really keen to invest in a Google-backed gaming service given their history of launching and then abandoning projects.

I could settle for drivers for common gamepads like PS4/XB1 controllers easily updatable through the Play Store.
