I just got a great deal on this 4K TV at Target, but I'm disappointed by the HULU app installed on it. I have HULU Live TV, and it works on all my other devices, but not this one.
Anyone get it working, or find a way to force an upgrade to a newer version of the app that's better than the default?
Unfortunately, Hulu has chosen not to support Live TV on Android TV. You might be able to get away with sideloading the Fire TV version of Hulu, but I have no idea if anyone has had success with that. Short of that, your options are what /u/genesisdh said.
If you can, I'd advise switching services to something that does support Android TV. Sling, Vue, Youtube TV, Philo, and FuboTV all support the platform.
Latest Android Hulu app works fine. Will have to side load apk
Basically two options
Cast from phone app
Sideload the phone/tablet version of the Hulu app. It works crudely with a remote but an air mouse is better used with it.
There isn't currently a version of Hulu for Android TV that has Live TV.
