Hello!
I didn't receive my Mi Box S at the moment so im just asking if someone was able to use the Steam Link Android app and play PC videogames on the TV.
I have the Mi Box (OG, not S). I have been able to stream games without hitches on 5GHz network. Initially tried 2.4GHz but that was laggy. That being said, I have only used it for party games like Jackbox, so not sure how a playable a fast paced game would be.
I've tried with usb to ethernet adapter and it worked fine.
I tried, and failed.
It works, but you need to find an input method that will pair with the mi box. Or if you are within range you might be able to connect a controller wirelessly directly to the rendering PC.
The quality looks good, but there's considerable input lag if your mi box is on wifi, even with the rendering PC on Ethernet.
It's fine for things that don't require fast reactions like jackbox party or something. If you think you are playing anything competitive over it I wouldn't count on that.
Super laggy. Might work for slow paced games or puzzle games, but not games like Rocket League or shooters.
Worked for me, but got around 5% Framedrops, which results in skipping of the sound. Both PC and Box are wired. Tried the same with my shield which worked fine. Sadly even my Raspberry Pi 3 has better performance, but there I found the controlles to be laggy. I also tried 5ghz 2.4ghz, but got nearly the same results. For the controller, I used a PS4 Controller with the 8bitdo wireless adapter. That worked great.
So I settled with Nvidia Gamestream on my shield TV.
TLDR: worked but skipping in sound.
Haven't tried it on the MiBox, but it does well on the Shield.
I have it on my Mi Box S, but didn't tried any game now. All is set up, but I don't like that my PC needs to be on, I was thinking it will work w/o it with the new Steam Link Anywhere thing.
For me it worked but it shows that WiFi is slow. Have not tried with USB Ethernet adapter.
