Looking for Android TV suggestions

by cat-a-flame

Currently I have a MiBox 3, but since the Oreo update, it's a total crap. I've tried everything I found on the internet, but nothing changed :( I'm really disappointed, cause I loved this little device. I've been waiting for way to long to Xiaomi to drop a new patch, but I got tired waiting and I've decided to buy a new device.

I saw Nvidia is the best you can get, but the price tag + the fact that it has too many functions I might won't need, scares me.

What I need:

  • Netflix
  • Plex
  • Youtube
  • Cast function

Any suggestions? I live in Hungary, so I need something I can buy on german/UK Amazon.

There are only 3 options.

Shield, MiBox, Jetstream.

The Shield being the fastest and most expensive. It's pretty much a game console with streaming abilities.

The Mibox is in the 'it's fine for the majority of people who don't need gaming', but there are some issues.

The Jetstream being the newbie in the group from a semi-unknown company. People apparently have good things to say about it.

I have mibox3 international version and I was having the same problem after Oreo update. I did a factory reset and now it's working great. The only issue is with the "wake up" you have to press any button on remote a few times so the box can wake up (turn on)

Shield is the only way to go for AndroidTV.

Beelink GT1-A, Edit: the "-A" version runs AndroidTV with Netflix 4K support.
