use apk editor and change the package name of netflix for android tv.
i have have now 2 netflix apps installed on my androidtv other one updates and the other stays on v5.3.1 which works with getflix and smartdns proxy
Which exact version is required to work with VPNs?

Sideload Yalp store. It allows you to create a white-list for auto updates and pulls updates directly from the Google Play store.

Click on update all. Look for Netflix waiting for update. Open the app page. Cancel update.
