The Mi Box S is the Mi Box 4.
Your must be referring to the Mi Box 3 since it just got an update.

Can someone check if it outputs true 23.976 Hz, instead of straight up 24 Hz because that would be almost useless. If it does that would be great news.

only issue is when you go back to the home/front menu it should revert back to the original hz/fps from initial start, it does not do that. The nvidia shield does.
Does frame rate switching work with Live Channels?
