I am terribly sorry, https://9to5google.com/2019/03/29/android-tv-smart-market-share/
You forgot to mention it trails behind almost every other streaming device
This seems like meaningless data because it doesn't describe actual usage . Just because you bought a smart TV (according to the article 2/3rds of people did last year) doesn't mean you don't have something else plugged into it.
I'd bet the vast majority never touch the TV's built in OS in favor of a cable box/ps4/perfered streaming box.
And unless these Smart TV are running the snappier Android TV Oreo, they provide the worst Android TV experience around due the the pathetically underpowered Chipsets the TV manufacturers use(d). TV's were also loaded up with Bloatware that also slowed them down even further.
I would say such previous, slow buggy TV's have actually discouraged, regular mainstream consumers from looking at any other products running Android TV.
The only decent Chipset in a Smart TV, running Android TV is the shiny new MediaTek ones in Sony's new 2019 models. The powerful GPU in that combo is what makes for a snappy Android TV Oreo experience.
