Vudu missing from Android TV?

by Solar111

Hi all -- I'm thinking of getting a Sony Android TV, and I noticed that Vudu is missing from the Play Store's list of Android TV apps. Is this a glitch or is Vudu really not available?

I also noticed that YouTube is missing, but I'm sure that ATV has YouTube, so maybe default apps aren't in the Store?

Thanks.

Both VUDU and Youtube are available on Sony Android TV. Sony got VUDU app before any other Android TV OEM. The Play Store website doesn't list all Android TV apps there. There are over 3600+ Android TV apps but the Play Store web site only show some of the hand picked ones.

May be a Sony thing as both apps you mention are avalible on my shield and mibox s

Edit: that link is what's bad gotta love Google the songza TV at the very bottom doesn't even exist anymore because Google bought them lol way to go googs

That's not a complete list. Many apps are listed as the same app working on Phone, Tablet and Android TV, this is the case with the Vudu app. If they had one that was specific for Android TV, I bet it would show up on that pate.

I find VUDU to be strange. It's available for both my Mi Boxes (sold by walmart), but I have to sideload on my Nexus Player.

That list is not all-inclusive. Vudu is definitely on Android TV, and was available on Sony's Android TVs even before it was available from the Play Store for all Android TVs.

It is only available for registered devices through Vudu. If you contact them they could enable it for other devices.
