Looking for recommendations for android TV stick/box

Hi,

Long story short, my Android based Sony TV popped, so I've switched over to LG which has its WebOS (chopped down version of android - edit: not actually true, although linux based and can run android apps at LGs discretion.... the hellfire I've been subjected to for this misinformation has scarred me for life and I expect to be burning in hell for my sins very soon, deservedly so) . It doesn't quite have all the features I want so I'm looking for a TV stick/box to pick up the slack.

I've not had one since my pre-4K days so not sure how good or bad the current "cheap" options are.. they used to do the job, albeit laggy at times.

I've been looking at the "T9 Android 8.1 TV BOX, 4GB RAM 32GB ROM RK3328 Quad Core smart box supports 2.4Ghz WIFI USB 3.0 4K Resolution H.265 BT 4.1" as a kind of mid-range price for the stick (at £50 GBP / $66 USD), are these any good or at 4k (Using Plex or USB) are they a laggy box of crap? And how are games running on them (PS1 emulator, older games emulators)?

Any advice or pointers appreciated.

if you're looking at one of those crappy non-certified boxes running android for tablets on a TV, you're in the wrong subreddit

here, it's either Shield, MiBox, Jetstream, or whichever one of THESE is available in your country

I just returned my JetStream due to the issues I had here . I gave it a try and it was okay but didn't want to deal with the issues. I'll just continue to Cast for the time being.

I picked it up at my local Wal-Mart so it was an easy return vs having to order online.

Your experience may be different from mine. I have yet to try the MiBox so that may be my next item to try before resorting to an Nvidia Shield.

Try the mibox s from Walmart it's easy to return I use it for streaming and emulating but have not tried ps1 level emulation on it agian if it doesn't work for you Walmart has a great return policy

Mi box s is pretty much worth it. It has chromecast ultra functions and yet cheaper than a regular chromecast

If you have a limited budget, go for FireStick 4k. If money's not an issue, then go for Nvidia Sheild.
