Just conplained to google about their new ads and i think you all should do the same

I contacted Google directly about their Android TV ads that are starting to appear on our devices and I think we should all voice our opinions as well. I was on the phone for maybe 5 minutes if that just to let them know how I was unhappy with them as a customer. I have an Android TV that I have spent over $1K on for THEIR OS. I have already given the company plenty of money from devices and services with Google but what I didn't sign up for was ads that I have to see Everytime I use my TV. They have gotten enough money from me and these ads are completely ruining my Android experience... What's next, my Android phone will start having sponsored ads too? Nahhhh!! Not happy!!

Before getting off the phone the employee did state that they have escalated this to the Android TV management team but I feel as if we don't get our point across that nothing will actually be done.

I just replaced 6 Fire TV boxes to get rid of the ads. Not happy.

Forget complaining... we need laws. I see this as a warning sign. It should not be possible to sell a device to someone that is ad-free, etc.. and then after a year, force update it to show ads and do whatever. How is that legal? Are we going to see future automated garage door openers that start yelling out ads every time the garage door goes up and down? Automated door locks that do the same? How long until everybody starts updating their products for ad dollars. We need to draw the line in the sand HERE and NOW! And make it impossible for such a radical change in function to be forced upon a purchaser without any ability to get it turned back into the device he or she bought. Manufacturers should be mandated to allow you to opt out of any future updates and revert back from future updates and still have the functional device you bought
