Do you have an ad blocker installed? When I have an ad blocker app like AdGuard it causes the tv to take about 45 seconds to a full minute from pressing the power button on the remote to actually showing something on the screen. Removing the app returns everything to the way it's supposed to be.
My Sony TV has also started doing this recently! It used to just go to standby, but now it turns all the way off every time. So annoying! Does anyone know where to find the setting for this? I could've sworn I turned off anything to do with power saving.
Yes, I have installed ad guard. I will delete the app. Thanks
I've a nearly 2 year old Sony 4K TV. Sometimes screen goes off and it turns on itself, all within a second or two. Still annoying. Also build quality is much cheaper compared to Samsung units and much costlier. Will never buy Sony.
I deleted the app and the TV is working perfectly. Thanks
That's about the time it takes for a full boot of the TV and it's operating system. The TV should resume from its regular standby in a couple of seconds at most.
So, no, this is not normal and should not happen, unless ...
... you keep cutting power to the TV when it's in standby, e.g. with a power strip. Solution: Stop doing that.
... you changed a setting for the TV to comply with EU standby power consumption regulations which will also have this effect. It's off by default. Solution: Turn it back off.
... something keeps crashing the TV. Solution: Tricky. Make sure you're running the latest firmware and maybe consider a factory reset.
