Trying to figure out a way to pin the mlb.tv app to my home screen. Everytime I want to open it, I have to go into play store > my apps > mlb and then hit open. Am I missing something? Any advice would be greatly appreciated in solving this issue.

It probably lacks Leanback launcher. You can create a custom Leanback launcher for it: http://atvlauncher.trekgonewild.de/
Look for its package name under "Settings -> Apps".
Trying clearing data and then uninstall/reinstall if that doesn’t work.
The Android TV version of MLB.tv should absolutely be showing in your app list with other compatible apps.
