I've fiddled around with both direct TOSLINK and coaxial from my tv.
No matter what i do, it only shows up as PCM 2.0 in both KODI and VLC.
Are there anyone that has gotten it to work?

everything's broken on Mi Box 3 mate...
even the last update got severely throttled internet streaming speed while it's not affecting local stream... I can tell bcoz I can stream same content on my laptop without problem while this box is just buffering all the way....
ACC 5.1 is currently broken where it doesn't play the center and rear channels.
EAC3 won't convert to AC3 like it should on a Dolby certified machine.
AC3 and DTS should play just fine though.
UPDATE:
Never mind. Got it working on KODI :)
Select "auto" on audio settings in home menu.
Remember to enable passthrough on KODI settings.
Both DTS and AC3 tracks play fine now. Can't speak for sure on AAC and other codecs.
