Not sure how it works on Android TV, but don't you have the option to add a shortcut on home screen from tge 3 dot menu, like on phones?
I think you mean Chrome browser shortcut!? If this is what you need then yes its possible.
Just go here : http://atvlauncher.trekgonewild.de/index.php and create your shortcut. Its easy
to do just read instructions.
In this case:
app name = Chrome
app package= com.android.chrome (just copy and paste text)
app logo = Logo link
app banner = Banner Link
