Philips Android TV keeps disconnecting from WiFi.

by CidAndroid

I've bought this tv (Philips 43PUS7303/12) 3 weeks ago and everything worked perfectly until today.

After I came home from work I tried watching some Netflix and it showed I was disconnected from the internet. I connected it again but the same thing happened.

I even completely reinstalled the television but the same thing occurs. There were no software updates between the time it worked and when it stopped working.

Did someone experience a similar issue? I'm quite worried that something is broken and I need to return it.

Edit: thanks everyone for your replies but nothing seemed to work. Oddly, changing the wifi password has fixed the whole issue.

I had a similar issue with the 50PUS7303 bought last week, but I think it was just a matter of poor WiFi signal. My TV is two floors above my router so I couldn't catch the 5 Ghz, and 2.4 Ghz kept disconnecting indeed. I plugged a CPL closer and it seems to be working now...

My advice is to get a powerline

How far away is it from the router? Maybe the signal is too weak and it gets kicked from wifi. So maybe try to put the router closer to the tv. Another thing you could look up is your router model and if there are issues of devices getting kicked from wifi (also update the router firmware).

I had a similar issue when my internet went down during the day. Going to settings > Android settings > Either about or help > restart fixed it for me.

Run WiFi Analyzer on your Android phone and see if your network is broadcasting on a crowded channel. My neighbors are always alternating the OG 1,6 and 11 so I have mine set to 9 which avoids their garbage.

Always try and Cable your TV into your router directly.
