On MiBox, how do you remove apps in the 'APPS' channel?

I have MiBox (OG, not the S) on Android Pie. The first channel on it is APP which had apps that I have added over the years for quick access instead of clicking 'APPS' for all installed apps. However, I no longer use some of these apps. Yet I cannot find any way to remove apps from this list. Only the '+' at the end of the list to add more.

How do I remove some of these apps (without uninstalling)?

Hold the middle (OK) button on the remote and choose remove from favorites.
