Comic book reader on Android TV

by jss1234

As weird as it sounds I'd like to read comic books on my Android Tv (cbr/cbz/pdf). Are there any compatible apps?

Most CBR/CBZ-reading apps are for phone/tablet (I use "Perfect Viewer") and require a mouse (or Mouse Toggle app) on TV. If you just want to use TV remote, Kodi already supports CBR/CBZ files.

You can upload your PDF based files to Google Play Books and read them that way.

I haven't tried any CBR/CBZ readers yet (but headed to the Play Store now to look). It's worth a look-see.

Edit: It looks like CDisplayEx Free Comic Reader will load from APK Mirror. It runs anyway. I'm now trying to get some comics over to my TV to actually read .

Edit the second: CDisplayEx Free app version 1.2.17 for armeabi-v7a works great on my XBR-55X700D with a keyboard/mouse. The remote was sorta working. Was able to read CBRs off a stick just fine.

Tangentially related... The DC Universe AndroidTV app (requires a subscription) does allow you to read comics on your TV.

Sorry I'm not sure of any that let you use your own files.
