I'd like to buy the mi box s for the Chromecast builtin and netflix 4k support. Reading this sub I didn't understand what's going on for the hd audio pass-through. Does it work? Right now I have a tannix tx5 android box connected via hdmi to a Denon AV receiver. The receiver is connected via hdmi to the TV. With my setup I can get hd audio pass-through with Kodi (DTS-HD Atmos and so on) but I cannot get it via other apps such as plex . I can't test it on Netflix because it simply doesn't work on my box...will hd audio pass through work on the mi box s?
I dont use Kodi, but I do use plex on the mi box s. On the mi box s plex app, in the setting there is an option to turn on audio passthrough. My limited testing shows it passes through dolby digital to my tv without issue. Also I am pretty sure the android tv audio settings have to be set to "auto" as well. Hope this helps.
