Twitch App update is great and all... but appears to break other apps (like YouTube)

by Cueball61

It seems the preview video background on the Twitch app breaks YouTube completely, if the video plays it’ll be dimmed but most of the time it’ll just error out - even more interestingly is it brings up the thumbnail of the Twitch preview in the middle of the screen which is weird in itself.

Anyone else experiencing this? Everything is fine if I kill the Twitch app.

Delete the Twitch app and use S0undTV

Yeah, I've noticed this too. Only way to solve it is to kill the Twitch app via holding down the Home button

I have a Mibox 3 and for me I get a playback error in Youtube after watching streams in Twitch. I switched to using S0undTV instead of Twitch and haven't had that problem since.

I'm pretty sure when you leave the app, the Twitch app doesn't releases some resources, probably related to the GPU (just a blind guess). It can interfere with my app too, although i didn't had any issue with Youtube.

The new app is also a native app, so i guess most of the backend of the app is C++. I mean according to the in-app license they ONLY use C++ libraries. Meanwhile the mobile app is Java + Android.

I have experienced this and I flick between YouTube and twitch a fair bit.

Did it just start today or when twitch released the big overhaul a few weeks ago?
