I would unplug it and leave it unplugged for at least three hours, then try again.
If you unplug, and hold down the power button on the TV (hidden beneath the IR receiver) for 10+ seconds, then plug power back in, restart. Other advice of waiting an extended period of time works as well.
You can also try unplugging, wait a few seconds, then plug back in, then hold the remote all the way up against the IR port, and then hold down the remotes power button for a long time. This also does a boot reset (and looks for updates).
Make sure other inputs are disconnected as well.
Call the customer service, they should give you a update package and instructions to do a manual update. This may help. I'm curious how did this happen though.
