No 5.1 output from Nordic HBO app on android TV

hi im not sure why but im not getting a 5.1 signal from the app. it is set to 5.1 in the app but it is not giving my any ac3/dd/dts 5.1 audio stream. If i use netflix app it works without any problems. My tv is updated and the app too. Would anyone know what could be the cause?

No HBO apps do surround sound AFAIK.

I have the Europe HBO GO app on my Shield, my LG webOS TV and my Samsung Tizen OS TV, and they all only output stereo.

I think HBO just doesn't do surround sound in their apps.

this is what i got so far from the support: We support 5.1 audio for the app for an Android TV. Have you tried to change your sound settings? Do you use an optical cable?
