Problem with Prime Video on Xiaomi Mi Box S

by indaflam

I side loaded prime video app to my mi box s and I have problem with video playback in this app. There is no sound in videos and I don't have access to x-ray, subtitles and rewind. When I try do something with remote, video becomes a laggy mess and finally freezes, making impossible to even turn on subtitles.

Any fix for that???

What's the version of Prime Video installed on your box?

As mention this is the most current version that works on the Mi Box S. The latest few versions don't work correctly on the Mi Box S some have speculated that Amazon might have optimize that last few versions to work better on the Nvidia Shield processor which is much more powerful than the Mi Box S. Since these apk come from the Nvidia Shield which officially runs Prime video.

Latest version is Prime Video_4.12.7-googleplay-armv7a hasn't given me any issue on either of my boxes, except for it occasionally requiring me to reboot (to refresh the apps connection?) when I've gone too many days without doing so for it to not give me a network connection error upon opening.

Immediately works fine again upon reboot on the rare occasion it even happens.

ICYMI: If you happen to be using an ad-blocker (Blokada in my instance) you have to add Prime Video to the whitelist so the built in encrypted ad at the top of the app can update or it'll crash & throw a network error message screen often.

Immediately fixed said network error message in my use case on both of my boxes upon doing so without having to reboot when it happened just a bit ago tonight.

EDIT: Sadly, it gives Freedive titles ads, but there are ways around that nonsense too if you're clever. 😉
