Which to buy?

by Leseverus

I'm considering buying a streaming device, Mainly for a non Smart TV, I want to be able to stream Netflix, Amazon Prime and Youtube.
I'm confused between Roku Express, Mi Box 4K, and Fire TV Stick 4K?
4K streaming won't be important that much as Internet in my country is shitty

The mibox s is an Android box which comes with the Chromecast Ultra built-in.

Here's a link to Linus tech tips review (a pretty balanced review).

Jetstream it's a pretty good box, it doesn't compare to the nvidia shield but you get Netflix and YouTube..you can side load Amazon prime.

Honestly wait till Google io on Tuesday. I really doubt anything will be announced but there is a chance

I mean if u just put a USB hub with ethernet on a mibox it's the same thing

Really depends what you want to do!

Only for streaming: Not an true Android TV device but I am really happy with my Fire TV 4K stick. Price was cheap (cyber week offer) and performance is superior. As bonus: the fire remote control can turn off/on the TV and control volume of the TV or an AVR. Also sideloading APKs is possible e.g. Kodi or Game emulators.

I wish my Android Bravia would be that responsive.

Mi Box doesn't have Amazon Prime; FireTV doesn't really have a good proper YouTube app; Roku outside the US of A is poop.

Shield TV is as good as it gets.

Here is the list of properly Google Certified and for some Netflix Approved devices:

Do not buy anything else promising Netflix App compatibility.

Netflix has had a major crackdown on non Approved devices recently and a bunch of them now cannot stream Netflix.

The Fire TV Stick 4K has the most powerful Chipset for the price paid, the best wireless remote as well.

Google and Amazon have come to an agreement recently and all Android TV devices will get the Amazon Prime App soon, plus the FireTV's will be getting YouTube.

The SmartYoutube App can be Sideloaded on to Amazon devices currently anyway.
