This is funny, this only pops up because /u/makhay posted in this sub a week ago about his find. Now here we are, posting a news article to this sub and the source material is... this sub.

Just ordered a G20. I have been getting steamed when the Shield remote doesn't respond. Sometimes it takes a full 10 seconds for the remote to register on the shield. I've also noticed the lag on voice recognition. Hope this new remote kicks as much ass as it looks like it will.

I just picked up the G20 a month ago. So glad I did. I have the 2015 remote, and it constantly loses connection with the Shield and the battery life lasts only slightly longer than the toy remote control cars I used to play with as a kid. It sits plugged into the charger constantly and then doesn't work without holding down the reset combination and waiting for it to restart. The Shield remote is definitely up there as one of my most useless purchases. Now that I have a replacement, I'm going to take it out to a field and destroy it Office Space style.

I just don't like that they burn a USB port...that and I'm not a fan of the air mouse capability.

I wish the remote wasnt so sensitive. Ive had so many accidental pauses in video, or lowering of audio. What seemed like a good idea (the vertical touch strip), didnt turn out well for practical use.

Any remote with the number pad?

Sorry but non of them are good for IPTV unless they have a number pad.

That’s my biggest complaint with the Shield and Fire TV remotes.

Do these need direct line of sight?

I will have to try one of these, I have recently broken my Sheild controller and in need of something

Anyone who has purchased either remote would love to hear your feedback, my Shield remote is making me hate my shield with its constant disconnecting slow down and simply refusing to work.
