Android TV Box Benchmarks

by sandcamping

Anyone know a good place to find a list of benchmarks (Antutu, 3DMark, etc)? I was looking into buying a new box (I have a Mi Box S right now but it doesn't appear to perform very well).

Otherwise, can anyone recommend a good box? I was looking at getting the Nvidia Shield but I was wondering if it's still the best thing out there considering its hardware is a couple years old now.

As far as Android TV boxes go, Nvidia Shield still trumps everything. The cheaper boxes are slowing getting closer, but none of them have the GPU power that can compare to this day.

The only real concern I'd have with the Shield is that there is always a very small chance Nvidia could eventually announce a newer version in the next year or so. Although, that just comes with the territory of electronics as I'm sure you know.

At the end of the day, if you're willing to shell out the money for the Shield and want the max horsepower for a Android TV box, I'd jump for it.

I usually use Geekbench ( https://browser.geekbench.com/ ) for CPU performance and GFXBench ( https://gfxbench.com/result.jsp ) for graphics. Synthetic score obviously is not always the best measure for real performance in apps/games. But still useful for getting a rough idea on CPU/GPU performance.

Notebookcheck has some info on framerate in actual games:
