I get stuttering / jerkyness / whatever it's called on all US content, because as I'm in Europe the TV display frequency is set at a fixed 50 Hz. AFAICT there's nowhere in the Android settings, the TV menu settings, or even in the hidden service menu an option to change framerate.
So this post serves as a warning, a bit of a cry for help, and a request for information if other manufacturers' Android TVs are like this (e.g. Sony's or Phillips). I guess most people don't notice, but it's quite a letdown, I watch a lot of US content on Netflix for example (like everybody else). And the NBA finals... and the jerkyness is constantly annoying.
I've got a TCL in Europe, and I haven't run into this issue. Do you have a specific video I can check to see if the issue appears on mine too? I regularly watch US netflix and YouTube content (through a VPN service).
