Mi Box S is a official Android TV box the others are not.

You also get Netflix in HD/4K with the mi box, you won't with random Chinese box

You will at least get some updates to the OS with the Mi Box, and the Mi Box probably has fewer quirks.

Random chinese boxes aren't running the Google certified android TV operating system and as such are just tablets with no screen and an HDMI port

I bought one by mistake not knowing the difference and it performed so horribly that I had to return it and get a Google certified one

My grandfather had a problem getting his Mi Box working on a 4k display, Netflix and the like would freeze 10 seconds in, he returned it for a Roku box which he says is working perfectly

Don't waste your time with the Chinese ones, they're a waste of money

No official AndroidTV, no Cast capabilities.

Depends what it is you want exactly. Chinese boxes make great devices for CoreElec/Libreelec/osmc/etc. They make poor official streaming devices. I have a t95k pro with Coreelec and a Roku TV for Netflix, HBO, Hulu, Amazon, etc. If I wanted a device for official streaming services I'd probably buy the Nvidia shield. Fortunately, my TV is a Roku TV and my Android box was only $20 so very little cost to get me set up.

I know this isnt the place to talk about.... but felt like saying it anyway. Why is the nVidia Shield not available in India.....

The most important thing is, the mi box support dolbi surround properly, and other boxes do not. So they crap out when playing surround sound. Stereo is fine, but plex breaks completly with 5.1 or whatever sound.
