Anyway to stop tv from connecting to headphones other than unpairing?

by BillDino

I have Bluetooth (4.2) headphones that I like to use on my phone and TV. Only problem is, if I want to use them on my phone, I have to unpair it in the menu then re-pair when I want to use them on my TV again. Phone won't let me choose the headphones because it's connected to another device already. Any advice?

Is your phone one where you can attempt to manually connect to a hidden paired device? If so, try starting that process from the phone a second before actually turning on the headphones, possible that might give the phone the edge on getting to the device first

A pair of BT4.2 headphones really shouldn't have any such pairing restrictions.

You're mixing two different things here, though:
no, you likely won't be able to pair headphones that are currently connected to another device but you should be able to pair it to multiple devices at the same time.

So simply switching off Bluetooth on your TV (so the headphones remain paired but not actively connected) for a second still won't allow you to pair your phone?

I have the same problems. I don't think you can toggle Bluetooth on Android TV

Turn off Bluetooth in the TV when not in use
