So I just picked up a new androidTV and am super excited about it. But can not get my google home to cast google photos to the tv! I can do it using a 1st gen chromecast why not an Android tv? Am I doing something wrong?

There may be an issue with connecting on the WiFi network. This definitely does work. I'd verify your router has multicast DNS enabled.
Which Android TV device?
It was disabled due to a privacy issue . Google it. Not sure when it will come back.
