I got a cyberghost VPN account and installed the app on my shield TV. If I use it on desktop I can watch iPlayer etc no problem. But on the shield it just errors out immediately. Are other apps aware if you have a VPN connection on the same device?

Yes, I know Netflix can. I use PIA Android app and they have a per app setting built in that allows selected apps to circumvent the vpn. Don't know if cyber ghost had something similar.
