Yes! This would be a great feature.
I installed an app (I think Button remapper or something similar... found it on this thread for Mibox) and have this exact setup: long press back to quit (I use it for some apps that don't exit/close automatically).
You can't remap force quit without root too which sucks 😔
Back on 6.0 there was an app switcher that you could easily kill apps. Those were the days... double tap home button brought it up I think
I vote for this option too :)
