"Your device software can't be checked for corruption. Please lock the bootloader" - Shield TV

So I'm getting this error message at random. I turned on my shield and it was up on the screen. I did some googling and I'll be damned if I can figure out why it's giving me this error.

I've never attempted to unlock my bootloader (unless it comes from the factory unlocked) - I also can't figure out how to fix it/if it's fixable....

I had this happen some time ago. I never unlocked the bootloader either. I googled it and it looks like the only way to fix is factory reset. So I did that and it has not come back since. Was at least a year ago when it happened.

That message indeed means your BL is unlocked. I unlocked mine a while back. You can Google "How to tell if my Android device has an unlocked bootloader" and check it. Pretty easy...just download some drivers, hook it up to a PC and put some simple commands in a terminal window.

Of course, you can lock it again if ya want but it's no big deal to keep it unlocked. It it NOT sold unlocked.

So I guess my question is this. It seems to be working ok now, even though I get that error message on every reboot - would it cause an issue for me to just ignore the error and keep using my Shield as is?

I don't have a PC that I can hook it to in order to flash it with factory settings, so I am kind of stuck here on options.
