Android TV - pass-through DTS-HD Master Audio and Dolby TrueHD

Hi,

Is there any version of Android TV that will pass-through DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD? If it's not a specific version which Android TV box would you recommend other than the Nvidia Shield?

Shield TV does it, I checked.

For actual TVs, you'll need one that supports eARC.

Yes for:

  • Nvidia Shield

  • 2016 only, Xiaomi Mi Box (model MDZ-16-AB) running Oreo 8.0

No for:

  • any AMLogic chipset device running Android Oreo 8.1 or greater.

That includes the 2018 Xiaomi Mi Box S, and I think the Jetstream 4K Ultra HD is also Oreo 8.1

If you want Kodi only inc. 4K HDR + HD audio + Atmos.

The new ODROID N2 running an optimised CoreELEC Kodi is better vs anything else.
