Casting YouTube TV to MiBox S via Google Home

I've seen so much conflicting information. I recently started using chrome cast in my home. I use them to cast via voice through Google Home to specific channels with my YouTube TV subscription. However I'd really want a box with an interface to go along with it.

So I started looking at the MiBox as I'm still in my return period for my Chromecast. I literally have a custom morning routine everyday that cast NBC from YouTube TV at five AM so I wake up to the local news. (I'm getting old I know.)

Have all the issues with this been wrinkled out? Will I be able to cast via Google Home, specifically YouTube TV channels like I can now and integrate my routines?

Sorry for another thread but I've never found a clear answer searching old threads.

why don't you just download the youtube tv app for the mibox?

Although I don't know anything about YouTube TV as it's not available in our region, I can tell you that, if you have YouTube TV app (or any app that supports casting) installed on your phone (which is likely that you have it now too with the Chromecast working with it), you can cast it to the Mi Box flawlessly.

Now if there's a bug with the YouTube TV app or their server as you're assuming rn, it's likely for you to face the same problem regardless of using any Chromecast or Chromecast built-in devices!

And as far Google Home goes, I think you can do that by just saying it to it. Chromecast is no different than Chromecast built-in. So you're good to go! 👍
