Must have Android TV apps?

by Jimmyatx

I recently purchased a Sony 950G which has Android TV and loving it. They made the interface fast and smooth! What are your recommended apps? Also loving the "ok Google" voice commands on it

S0und - Twitch client

Neverthink - hand picked youtube videos playlist by category.

Tivimate - imo best iptv client.

Pufin browser tv - why not have a browser on TV.

Aptoide - for installing apps that are not in play store and are maybe not TV optimized

Smart youtube TV - YouTube client with no ads and with some additional features even though I think that the original is getting some love noe and got some bugs fixed.

Xumo/Pluto - ad based Tv services. Never used pluto because is not available in my country but Xumo is nice to have.

Amazed no one has said r/tivimate for iptv, otherwise

Kodi (for your media center files and a world of 3rd party movies/TV shows add-ons)

Xplore file manager (the best free file manager and you'll need one)

RetroArch (games emulator with huge multi platform libraries you can run through Kodi)

A Vpn app (depending on your location)

Plex/Emby for me. Not for everyone since most people just stream their media. But it's a must for anyone who has decent library of local media.

klutzikaze

Zion TV, a vpn, adguard

Live Channels. You can aggregate channels from multiple sources - antenna, Pluto TV, Philo (if you subscribe), Haystack, and a few others. Not sure if it works on a TV, but on our Nvidia Shield we can also record OTA to a connected USB drive.
