installing non android tv supported app from google play store

by fadhilanugrah

Hi guys,

i just bought my first android tv box (Xiaomi mi box S). but I wanted to know if there's any way to install this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vidio.android&hl=en . this app is like a local live tv streaming app (like youtube tv but for Indonesian content). How can I install it? I saw there's some downloadable apks on the internet, but i hate the perks of having to redownload the apks when a new major update is available. is there a way to install the app to my android tv while still getting auto updates from google play store?

Thanks

Just sideload it

Well, if it’s on the official Play Store why don’t you download it from there?

In any case, if you want to install unofficial apps and update them, that’s what AptoideTV is for.

Highly unlikely that you will receive auto update if not installed from Play Store. You can extract APK from your phone via ES file explorer kind of apps to ensure genuineness.

Install puffin browser. Browse apkpure there and download the app apk. It might not show in your app list though so install sideload launcher (I think that's the name). Don't forget to allow unknown sources installation.
