Any Canadian can install Telus Optik TV app and let me know if it works on Android TV?

My Shield Android TV is using a custom firmware so I'm not sure if this is the problem but when I launch the Optik TV App I get a blank grey screen. I'm supposed to get the login screen.

I tested it on my Shield and it does not work. Same grey screen.  I imagine it has to do with it not being Android TV compatible? I had to sideload it.
