Hisense H9F Quantum Dot Android TV

by AndroidPurity

This TV should be releasing some day this month.

Is anyone planning on buying this TV or considering to buy it?

It seems to be an amazing TV for an amazing price. Up until now the best TV you could get with Android TV for under $1,500 USD was the Sony XBR 55 inch 950g for $1,299 USD.

However this Hisense H9F will have Quantum Dot and over 1,000 nits of brightness and 132 local dimming zones. Not quite as bright as the 950g but should have deeper blacks, better contrast, and I think that's more dimming zones than the Sony 950g. Plus with HDR and Dolby vision and Android TV 8.0. All that for just $699 USD. Literally almost half the price of the Sony.

My only concern is the memory and processor performance of this new Hisense H9F. As most of us probably know that Android TV is pretty resource intense OS. I had avoided upgrading from my first generation Sony Android TV (830c) beause even though the displays had improved a lot the past 4 years, Sony was still putting laggy processors in their 900 series, up until this year they put the most powerful processor mediatek makes and doubled the RAM to 4 GB.

However I been unable to find any data that shows what processor and how much RAM this new Hisense H9F will have. If anyone finds it please post here.

Anyways so who is planning on buying this or checking it out? Any thoughts or questions? I believe it will be the first Android TV ever with a Quantum Dot display (at least in the United States).

A lot of people are tracking this TV over at https://www.avsforum.com/forum/166-lcd-flat-panel-displays/3071082-hisense-h9f-release-date.html so if you want to follow it when this thread goes to page 2, go there. It comes out in mid July according to them and they have no idea what processor or ram it will have just yet.

I’m getting the 65 inch on the 16th. I’ll fill you in on the experience.

I received my 65 inch h9f today. My first impressions of the tv is that it’s an amazing tv and by far the best bang for the buck at under $1000 for a 65 inch. The panel is amazing even with a slight bloom on objects with a black background. The HDR and quantum dot tech are stunning and I’ve started rewatching many of my favorite Netflix shows just to see the difference. I’ve yet to change any settings except for the brightness and it very impressed with the stock setting and only expect it to get better after a good calibration.

The android interface is just like any other tv but this being a budget tv you can see the lag in response to navigation of the operating system. The tv does default to the last input selection when powered on though, so using your own android tv box or a similar system shouldn’t be an issue for future upgrades. Although I’m not too bothered with the lag of the interface as long as I can use the apps I like without failures.

I bought this TV and am VERY happy with it. Excellent bang-for-the-buck!

I owned a 2017 sony55900e tv for 2 years and sold it 2 weeks ago to a coworker and picked up a sony55950g the same day, I loved the 900e but the input lag for gaming was too high for me, thinking that moving to a 950g would be the best upgrade for me! Huge Mistake!! The input that yes lower but the picture quality SUCKS!! Watching 720( bell satellite) horrible, the blooming horrible, even 4k was not as good as it was on the 900e, the chip is nice and fast navigating around netflix and google yes that's a plus but picture quality was horrible!! I sold the 950g yesterday and picked up a 65H9F(Q9 up here in canada) let me tell you, the picture is amazing, 720p 1080p 4k everything looks amazing, colours are bright and image is crisp, motion is amazing, gaming is even better, I am very happy with my move, I feel like the picture quality is the same or even better as my 900e and the gaming is even better with input lag of 14ms!! Anyone thinking of buying this tv and have worries cause its hisense, dont worry this tv is the real deal way way better than my sony 950g , no dse no vertical banding minimal blooming I love it!! The only thing about this tv is the chip is a little laggy navigating around netflix and google compared to my sony950g but its acceptable, once your movie or show is playing sit back and enjoy it's a great tv everything looks great on it!! Hope my review helps cheers!!

Return your Hisense immediately. You have been warned.

Hisense is a horrible company making horrible TV's. Mine randomly shuts off if the screen is too bright. Now I am forced to keeps the brightness at 15 and contrast at 35, we can barely make out what is going on unless the image is bright. BTW this issue started 2 months out of warranty.
