I have a Sony XBR49X900E that has been giving me problems lately. Depending on the game, the PlayStation causes the tv to turn off and gives me blinking red lights. I've read the most recent update fixes this problem, but my TV is refusing to update. I've had it since Feb 2018 and it's still on 0.0000.0075NAA software version.
I've tried checking for software updates through the help center and the TV says it's up to date. Auto update has always been turned on. I've also tried manually updating it with various USB flash drives through all 3 ports on the back. The update will run and the install will get about 1/4 of the way through before the TV restarts. It tells me the update was successful but the software version remains the same and I'm still on Android 7.0.
I'm wondering if anyone else has run into this issue, if so how did you fix it?
I woudl first check to make sure you downloaded the file properly on USB and that hte flash drive was formatted as sony describes on their site. If that fails I would try a factory reset and if that doesnt work you call Sony.
