I want to know can you control the media cast to the mi box with the included remote? If so what controls do you have? Is it for only supported websites such as netflix, youtube? Or even 3rd party apps that cast media from different devices?

No it doesn't work. Only pause/play will work.
Pretty sure volume control works too.
I'm not in front of my mi box at the moment, but I don't believe that works: all controls are on the casting device.
UPDATE: got the mi box s. The remote can play/pause media from Airflow. It can even go to next media. Love the remote and the box.
I know for a fact that volume and play/pause work.
the directional controls don't work, so you won't be able to go forward, backwards or anything similar.
I tested it on youtube but it should be similar to other casting services.
for me pausing was the most important honestly, I lost count of how many times I had to pause something when using my old chromecast 2 just to find out my phone had lost connectivity with it and it was a good 10 to 20s to reestablish connection and finally pause it.
