Small remote control for TV with AndroidTV like Philips etc. ?

by Silenttap

Mi box remote can't be paired with my Philips Android TV nor these G20 type remotes.

Are there any aftermarket, small, handy remote controls that can be paired with regular TV running android tv?

I just want to use the android part of the tv so changing channels etc does not matter but I need to turn the tv on and control volume ofc.
The default remote for my tv is way too big and has too many buttons that I never ever use.

You'll need to check to see if both your TV and the MiBox support this, but you might see if there's a setting on the Mibox to enable CEC. You'll need to enable it on the TV as well. CEC allows devices connected via HDMI to control your TV power and volume. I know that this works with the Shield TV.

I use the harmony hub. Costs a couple bucks but works like a dream.

The Firestick 4k remote should do the job connected via Bluetooth. Main problem is that you'd need a Firestick to set up the IR power and volume, unfortunately. But it's really good if you can overcome that.

What are you looking for in more detail? Bluetooth or dongle wireless? Infrared?Did you want a keyboard? Touchpad?

If you want basics (e.g., volume, home, directions, select, play/pause) you'll probably save money getting a normal universal IR remote.
