I keep on getting "Ethernet Not Connected" on my Mi Box S, any advice?

by Kenzibitt

Bought a Tp-Link USB 3.0 to Ethernet and three USB ports adapter (UE330) for my Mi Box hoping to improve the reliability and speed of my internet only to find out it always not connected especially after power on.

Anyone with this experience and any suggestions, thanks.

The only USB to ethernet dongle that I know works is the ugreen one.

I got the Linksys USB3GIG USB 3.0 Gigabit Ethernet Adapter and it works perfectly. Didn't disconnect even once since I connected it about 4 months ago.

Could also be your HUB that is not waking up properly or doesn't have enough power for all your devices. Try without it, just to rule it out.

The TP-Link one works flawlessly out of the box everytime for me

Also worth noting that the MIBox doesn't seem to like connecting to USB ethernet/hubs when USB debugging is turned on. That got me a while back after I forgot to turn it off after sideloading the Amazon app

Pretty sure it's a bug. Happens to me everytime I out mine to sleep. Have to unplug and replug it and works fine each time I take the mi box out of sleep

Swap to different USB port and see if there's any change. Test with just the ethernet adapter connected, does issue reoccur? If all this still results in it still disconnecting, buy an Amazon USB ethernet adapter and try that out.
