VLC 3.2.0-beta-01 is now testing with a UI redesign, including the player and TV browser, ViewModel layer refactoring, and subtitles are now saved in the media folder when possible

They should use the api for the Movie and TV databases and it could become another option for a media front end. They would get even more people to use

Weird I thought the redesign was coming in 4.0

VLC still needs to fix stuff for me to switch from MX player.

Like: default audio track language, saving of repeat mode, skip buttons, and a loading icon that actually starts when you open a video..

I only use VLC over mx player pro occasionally only because it allows me to browse an external hard drive without having to do a media rescan. If MX player had that ability I'd never use VLC because the interface is awful and it doesn't allow me to change from icons to a normal list.

Ok nice, I just hope they manage to make it so that 4k hdr files work properly. (TV/android) VLC is absolute crap compared to how good kodi works. Kodi plays any file you throw at it, VLC plays barely.aby and has the absolute worst ui and file browser
