Remote control app & ethernet connection

by Project_Helpo

Today I booted my Raspberry Pi 2 on Android TV 6.0.1, by purchasing a RaspAnd image. Everything works reasonably well. However, I encounter a problem: I have connected my Pi 2 to the Internet through an Ethernet cable, because it doesn't support WiFi. But, when I try to connect through the official Android TV Remote app, I cannot find it. What to do? Is there any similar app that will work for me? Thanks in advance!

As cool as it is, this is not an official Android TV release. You shouldn't expect things to work. For this issue, you'd be best to contact RaspEx to see if they have a solution. I'm pretty sure they recommend a pi3 for this. I think the remote uses BLE, which is not available on the pi2 without a USB dongle.

I hate to be a necromancer and resurrect this, but I'm curious if you ever got the official app to work, or any 3rd party Android app to work as a remote (I'm assuming you meant control your new install of Android TV from an remote control app on your Android phone, as I would like to)?
