Please have Dolby Vision!

Don't you play with me. I don't even think I need a new Shield TV but I use mine so much it would be hard to resist.

Probably similar to how the Switch is using a new chipset with similar performance now. The only thing the Switch gained was less power usage.

Dolby Vision and a better remote and it's a day one for me

Give me that VP9 codec and I'll let my old ShieldTV replace my Roku on the spare TV.

Just pulled the trigger on a Shield TV (coming from Roku which has been increasingly a disappointment). Still excited about the prospect of an updated version.

Currently have 2 2017 shields, but will by the new one and put one of the older ones in the reserve shelf lol.

I just hope they fix the dang remote. I'm using that cheap Chinese remote with a dual volume buttons even though it eats batteries for breakfast, lunch, dinner and for snacks as well as it's turrible tactile finish.

I do heart my shield though.

HDR10+

Here's hoping it's a minor upgrade. Ive got 6 of the 2017 versions. If the upgrade is a major one I might have to replace all 6 lol

same news as weeks (maybe a moth or two) back , nothing has changed . Its a minor spec bump with improved heat output, speed and memory. So far nothing ive read i these 'news' reports makes me concerned about owing a 2015 shield or indeed buying a new one now, well aside from a possible price drop at some point on the future.

I will buy it just to support. It would obsolete one of my fireTV's into a travel device.

Dennygreen

please do regular Dolby Digital

I think I will stick with my 2017 Shield for now. It's spinning like a top for me. No need to replace it yet.

Are they releasing this just before USB 4.0 comes out to make people go out and buy another in 2 years?
