Does this make a clicking noise when you press buttons. Trying to find a silent remote that doesn't wake my wife up
I was amazed that the voice search even worked. It took about 3 weeks to arrive when I ordered it but it was definitely worth it since my $50 nvidia remote shit the bed.
I've no need do a new remote but I'm pleased to be made aware of this special feature of Android TV.
This one appears to be the same with Prime shipping for $13.49
Is this airmouse? Thanks
Does anyone else have issues using this with the on-screen keyboard? It seems like the OK button doesn't work on keyboards (at least on my shield).
I've found this remote to be far better than the stock remote that came with my Shield. Definitely recommend.
Have had mine for two months now and after configuring CEC with volume on my receiver it really became the complete package.
Only hurdle I have come over at the moment is the new Hulu app, the Ok key doesn't seem to work at all in the app. As I understand it the remote doesn't send the android standard enter command?
Just keep it away from your ears, they exhibit a high pitched screech/whine noise. Some sorta electrical interference, drives me nuts.
Any problems with the remote disconnecting/being forgotten?
Loved mine for about 2 months until it just died on me unexpectedly.
Looks like a Fire Stick remote
Too bad the new Hulu app only accepts dpad_center for selecting things. I do love this remote though, but now I have to use another remote for Hulu.
I'm quite satisfied with my Sony's remote
lol so funny i bought this remote 2 days ago i highly recommend it.
Gaining physical volume buttons but losing CEC volume control is a deal breaker. The WeChip is finicky at best with IR learning and worked only on the newest TV I tried (tested on my two TVs, my mother's two and my brother's two to make sure I wasn't crazy).
We have the Wechip with the keyboard on the back and the back button doesn't function correctly on my NVidia Shield. Does this have the same issue?
Love mine too. Bought one for my parents and immediately ordered one for myself once it arrived.
The only thing I'm worried about is what the USB dongle is doing. Once I get time I might sniff out if it's sending data back to CN.
exist such a thing also with included IR ?
Yea it's a great remote and the best way to use Shield TV since the remote it comes with seems to disconnect everytime you put it down for a few seconds.
Alexa Voice Remote is hands down the best replacement in my opinion. I’ve been using it for a little while now and it’s perfect. If I need to voice search (which I very rarely ever do), I have my Shield controller in my end table and it captures my voice from there.
Are the buttons soft? Hate the loud Mi box remote.
Do the back and home buttons work normally and can you voice search in an app or only from home screen?
Can this be configured to use IR only for powering the TV on and off, and use the standard Shield HDMI CEC for volume?
I have a LG TV that does not power off via CEC, and a Marantz AVR that works fine with CEC.
Amazon fire stick and Roku both configure IR for the TV power, and works great, but the Shield leaves the TV on when sleeping.
Amazon remote paired over BT with Shield works fine with Shield, including voice, but does not have a way to configure IR for TV, like the FireTV stick configures.
Got this about a month ago and there some issues. Firstly, it's not great on battery, even with the airmouse thing turned off I had to change batteries after just a month. Secondly, it's makes a high pitched humm. It's not too loud, but def audible in a very quiet room. Very annoying. Maybe the best remote available but not exactly a high bar I guess.
Does anyone else have the new Hulu app on the Shield? It does not like my WeChip for some reason. It doesn't recognize the 'ok' or 'play' buttons, which makes it impossible to use in that app. For everything else it's great.
Does it work with the shield
I use it with a mac mini, it has it learning for the power button so I used my phone to teach it to power the mac mini from sleep... Marvelous and also cheap AF when bought via AliExpress
Is it running Android 9 Pie?
How do you put it into pairing mode? I have a no name Chinese version that looks identical with no instructions.
You should edit the topic to say "best android tv box remote" cos this remote does not fly with TV running with android tv.
I know not all remotes work 100% on the Mibox, I wonder if this does.
i would miss sooo much buttons.
Does the Air Mouse have a right-mouse button?
I have that remote. It feels really cheap in the hands and the directional buttons are too "clicky" for me. I'd recommend this one. Much more premium feel. It has an IR learning mode. And the keyboard works great.

Stole the design from FireStick's remote.
No mute button, fired.
Would be 100% perfect if with the volume keys would also raise the tv volume via IR , but yes it has replaced totally the original remote!
