PS4 controller connected with USB on Mibox

by zerostam

Hello all,

I prefer using a wired connection rather bluetooth cos this controller is used for several devices. I have no problem with my Xbox One controller, but when I connected me PS4 controller then I have no sound at all on the TV. And I didn't find any settings about that. The Mibox consider the PS4 controller as a headphone or something and I'd to like to know how to deal with that.

I know it will work with Bluetooth but I want to know if it can be used with a USB connection.

Oreo has a "Disable USB audio routing" option under "Media" section of "Developer options". Keep pressing confirm button on "Build" number in "About" to enable "Developer options".

Not sure on the mibox but on shield tv you can disable usb audio devices completely in the developer settings.

Not sure if it's relevant but when I plug my PS4 controller via USB into my pc, the pc detects a separate sound device which I'm guessing is the headphone interface in the controller. You might try plugging in some headphones to see if the controller is hijacking the sound output. I'm not sure how to remedy if this is the case but at least you'll have the heart of the issue narrowed down.
