If your tv lacks modern security like HDCP and at least HDMI 1.4, you're in for an unsettling experience with current streaming services.
So long as the TV has HDMI, it should also have the required HDCP to connect up Bluray players and Google Certified Android TV devices for streaming copy protected Netflix, Amazon Video etc.

Xiaomi MiBox S or wait for the new Nvidia Shield ot wait if Google launches a new ATV device, some says there is a dongle model to be approved for the FFC
Best is Nvidia Shield TV. Mi Box S is a decent box, as well.
