It turns out it was the Cloudflare DNS applied to my router. I switched the DNS and it started working perfectly again
Edit: turns out it wasn't the DNS. The update pending screen is back
Seeing the same behavior on my Jetstream using cloudflare DNS. Will try reverting to Google and see if it fixes the problem. Never had an issue using cloudflare until maybe a week ago.
I have Cloudflare DNS set up on my router and haven't had any issues so far. I wonder if it's because I have IPv6 set up. I'll report back if I see issues.
Clear cache of system and clear data of Store app.
You wouldn't happen to have the APKPure app store installed do you? That is malware I've found out, and did the exact same thing to my Shield that is happening to you until I uninstalled it and wiped it from existence
Same issue. Started happening after last firmware update. It stops after restart but than starts doing it again after a while. And there are no more updates.
For me cancel the updates and then manually update 1by1 works... It only happens after a factory reset for me and after that never happens again..
This has been happening to my phone all the time recently too. Some apps in the "installed" tab of play store will be stuck "downloading", so actual updates just stay pending. Canceling the stuck downloads no longer shows any update available.
I have this issue and force closing the home app makes it go away until it happens again.
I can't seem to get this to stop happening I don't even think I'm using any kind of DNS outside the default one.
Did you download all your apps from Playstore? How about APK Mirror, Aptoide, or APK Pure? Those all update apps too. It depends where you downloaded an app from. If you got it from, say, Aptoide, and you have Update Apps enabled in Aptoide, it will update all the apps you got from that particular source.
My YouTube app said it was updating yesterday, but when it was done, nothing changed. It's still the old version.
I'm using Google dns.
How much system space do you have available? I've had that when my TV ran out of space.
