I've heard nothing solid on a new Shield TV so I'd just get one if you find a good deal.
I'd wait. I heard September release announcement so i expect to hear any day now. Labor day (tmr) would be a pleasant surprise.
I'm just hoping for a smaller size, i understand the Shied is also good for gaming but it's a bit big.

If you've got a smart tv already, I would wait, otherwise, if you want to watch content on your TV, if you see a good deal on it, just grab it
This late in the year, I would wait, I'm expecting a Black Friday release. Haven't heard nothing but just a feeling.
